Spotted us in your logs?

Hi, we're digitup. We help people keep the websites they built with AI working and safe. We only drop by when someone asks us to, and we try to be the politest visitor you get all day.

Who visits

  • Scanner

    Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; digitup-scanner/1.0; +https://digitup.dev/bot)

Someone asked us to check a site. Looks around like any visitor would, then leaves.

  • Monitor

    digitupMonitor/1.0 (+https://digitup.dev/bot)

The site's owner asked us to keep watch. Pops in now and then to make sure the site is up.

  • Test browser

    Chrome's user agent, ending in digitupMonitor/1.0 (+https://digitup.dev/bot)

The site's owner set it up. Walks through the site the way a customer would.

Where we come from

All our visits come from the addresses behind monitor.digitup.dev, currently 91.98.163.252.

Want to be sure it's really us? The address should point to monitor.digitup.dev, and back again:

host 91.98.163.252
host monitor.digitup.dev

Anything using our name from somewhere else is an impostor.

How often

Rarely, and lightly. We don't crawl the web, and we never get in the way of your real visitors.

Things we never do

  • Break in, or try to.
  • Guess passwords.
  • Fill in forms nobody asked us to.
  • Enter payment details.
  • Keep your pages or your data.

Letting us in, or keeping us out

Behind bot protection? Owners get a secret we send in the X-Digitup-Monitor header, so they can wave us through. It's under Monitoring → Bot protection, and it only ever goes to their own site.

Rather we stayed away? Add this to your robots.txt:

User-agent: digitup-scanner
Disallow: /

A check is a person asking, not a crawler, so a blanket User-agent: * rule won't stop it. Naming us will. The site's own verified owner can always check it.

Seeing our monitor but never set it up? Someone on your team did. They can switch it off anytime, or you can block our user agent or the addresses above.

Something else, or think a check misbehaved? Write to hello@digitup.dev.
